While taking on pharmacy is risky, payoffs can be great.
Full Abstract
Many experts and once-burned IPA executives advise physicians against taking pharmacy risk. But not Tim Lewis, managing partner of the Jasos Group, an Orlando, FL-based pharmacy management consulting company. Lewis says if they are prepared to pay close attention to utilization and costs, groups that accept pharmacy risk can substantially boost revenues and profits.
